Goolwa Road oil painting

I did this small painting a couple of months ago. My painting buddys were all facing the other direction, painting boats on the water but, me (being a maverick!) chose to paint this suburban road going off in the distance and changing to a dirt road.

still life with apple.

One new still life picture, oil on canvas, about 500x600mm the single apple may be pointing me to a more simple kind of arrangement, if I can get out of my office and up into the studio I'll try another spartan layout!!

Last Thursday's life drawings.

These are two of my drawings from last week, each pose would have been 15 or 20 minutes,
I am trying to hold back on using other colours, it is so tempting to grab the full range of pastels!!
so keeping them in a tonal range is so much better, (I think! ?)

Drawing from life

Had a good night at drawing last night. Came away with three or four pictures that I am reasonably pleased with. I also enjoyed my lasagna and two glasses of red, (Australian of course!!) in the Cafe Pallazo. Anyone else out there in life-drawing groups? Is it making a come back?

Illustration Friday - Neighbour2

I bet we have all had a neighbour like this!

Illustration Friday - Neighbour

As everyone else is doing this Illustration Friday, I thought I may as well join in the rush. And, if my work load permits, I will try to do one each week.
My neighbour has just bought a new leaf-blower, and this was the first image to come to mind. Hope you like it!

New Faces.

Again, I'm focussing on the faces of the two models, I like the way the smudgy lines and little flourishesof the pastel, all add to the texture and interest of the picture, hope you agree,?? let me know.

Up Close and Personal!

These are some close ups from some of my recent life drawings. When I go to a life class I am always interested in the faces of the models, when I get a back view (which seems to be most of the time, damn it!!) thats the time to make a coffee or wander around the room and watch the other artists doing their thing. I draw on a fairly large scale, the paper I use (white off-set) is around 1m deep. If anyone is interested in purchasing a life drawing, they are $200 US each + postage. Just email me for details.

Veggie-might

These are both fairly large oil paintings. The one on black has been sold, the other one is one of my favourites so far.

Art Deco Jug and Lemon

This is a small painting, oil on canvas. This little jug has sat on the shelf at home for maybe five years, just waiting to be featured in a picture!

New work

This painting was completed last month. It is about 1m wide, and is oil on canvas. Hope you lik it!
